Embed fonts in PDF files

A key aspect of PDF files is their ability, when created, to embed fonts in the Microsoft Reporting Services document. Embedding the fonts allows PDF documents to be distributed and/or displayed properly without the need to have the fonts installed on the machine using the document.

Solution:

The PDF rendering extension does not embed fonts in Reporting Services 2000. Fonts that are used in the report must be installed on the report server and on the client computers used to view the report. In Reporting Services 2005 and greater, fonts may be embedded in PDFs.

IDAutomation TrueType Fonts dated 2004 and later support embedding in PDFs. To obtain the latest version of the font, update the associated Support and Upgrade Subscription.
