‘No Image’ is displayed after barcodes are created with ASP Server Component for IIS

An IDAutomation update has been issued to the ASP Barcode Server product that solves the barcode issuing a “No Image” message after upgrading to IIS 5.0 and performing security updates with an indeterminate number of calls to the barcode image generator function. This update was released February 25th, 2003.

Solution(s):

This product has been updated to solve memory and security issues. The latest version of this product is now referred to as the Streaming Barcode Server for IIS.

It is VERY important that the following is completed in order, for the update to work:
  1. REBOOT the server, ensuring that no barcode has been created on the server. It is suggested to disconnect the network cable if possible to guarantee this. If a barcode is created with IIS, the files will be locked and will not be replaced by the install utility.
  2. REMOVE the old barcode server package by going to Control Panel – Add/Remove.
  3. Download and install the latest version, the Priority Support & Upgrade Subscription may have to be re-activated.
  4. Follow the new implementation procedures.
